* Ion Imagination Entertainment, Inc. was founded by Wendy Whitten in August 1994 as a full service children’s entertainment company with it’s own children’s book publishing, music publishing, records, advertising and entertainment divisions.
* Flumpa and Friends LIVE! is the nationally acclaimed, multi-award winning family entertainment duo starring Flumpa, the blue eyed, red footed, adventurous tree frog and Wendy Whitten - ‘The Singing Scientist’, nationally acclaimed author, songwriter, singer and storyteller.
* Flumpa and Friends LIVE! has been touring since 1995 entertaining millions of children and families at zoos, aquariums, schools, libraries, science museums, children’s museums, nature centers, parks, malls, festivals, fairs and more. Some recent performances include Smithsonian National Zoological Park (D.C.) - since 1996; RioFest (TX) since 2002; The White House Easter Egg Roll (D.C) since 2001; Calvert County Fair (MD) 2001, 2003 & 2005; Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (NJ) since 2002, Clark County - Las Vegas Libraries (NV) since 2002, Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar (CA) and over 4,000 events nationwide.
* Science Rocks with Flumpa and Friends LIVE! These interactive musical science stage shows are charged with energy blending various musical styles and isolated and full body movement to incorporate basic science concepts in an educationally accurate and musical fun show for the entire family.
* Wendy Whitten — the creator and force behind Flumpa and Ion Imagination Entertainment, Inc., received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland in Agriculture and Life Science. She has worked in marketing and promotions in various fields, as well as quality control and as an applications dairy technologist in the food flavor industry. Her insight, energy and excitement are infectious! Throughout her life, Wendy has always been involved in the arts through dancing, singing and acting.
* Wendy created Flumpa at the age of seven. Using her imagination, she formed a fantazulmazmic fun, adventurous tree frog as a way to entertain her younger brother. Today, Flumpa has “grown” from mini stories for an audience of one, to a book series and an educational musical series complete with a live show for an audience of millions! Wendy has combined her love of reading, music, children, and entertaining; with her passion for science and the fascinating worlds of geography and history bringing Flumpa full circle… this little frog has truly “grown-up.”
* Ion has produced four multi-award winning products, The Adventures of Flumpa® and Friends, Someday...Someday (book/tape or CD), Flumpa®’s World: Frogs, Rain Forests & Other Fun Facts (CD), Flumpa®’s World: Out of This World!
